LUXE LAYERS // "My summer-dressing mantra (which I am taking into the fall) was: look like a lady of leisure, don’t be one," says Medine. Select luxe fabrics and sophisticated prints. "I have found that looking extravagant or decadent, like you’re the ruler of your calendar, is a helpful way to offset the realities of a busy schedule." Exude style-confidence via opulent details – jeweled sandals, a leopard-print collar, or oversized sunglasses add an elevated finish.

PRINT ON PRINT // ‘One floral is based in a light color while the other is based in black – the prints clash just enough that they look like they were made for each other,’ says Medine, conjuring up a 1970s vibe. Think practical when it comes to accessories, she says. ‘Socks and shoes are easily the most convenient way to break into a new pair of loafers.’

SEQUIN STYLE // "Studio 54 meets the barn; stops for tea at The Harmony Club," says Medine. The look is rooted in mixing 'two parts traditional (with its power to appeal to a horseback rider and heritage country club member) with one part fun (see: sequinned discs)'. When to wear this playful blend of styles? "To work on a day that I knew I had a party to attend afterwards," she says.

THE TIMELESS TRENCH // ‘Trench coats are my very favorite form of outerwear,’ says Medine. ‘I love everything about this look, from the slit at the bottom of the pants to where they fall and how they mesh with the silver shoes.’ The combination of sunglasses, a statement clutch and metallic shoes adds edge.
