Summa Shawl-Lapel Cady Jacket

This week, MATCHESFASHION The Style Report talks to designer Jane Chung about her New York-based label Summa. As a founding designer at DKNY, Jane Chung launched Summa in 2016 after leaving the iconic American label. To the designer, Summa is best defined as simple clothes for complex women.

Summa Fall 2017 portfolio collection is a focused curation of what the designer loves and, with knitwear sourced from Italy, T-shirts produced in Peru and denim straight out of LA, she isn't shy to get back to basics. That translates to a strict palette of black and white tailored separates, coats, suiting and dresses, all with layered architectural details, and the integrity behind each and every piece is meticulously well thought out.

‘My clothes aren’t designed to become a fashion statement – they're designed to be your best friend,’ explains Chung. ‘Of course, trend is important, but I believe my customer favours style.’ — Jane Chung
